The Power of Two: Get to Know the Founders of Our Front Porch

In order to share more about the two of us and why we do what we do, we decided to interview each other. We fully enjoyed giving and hearing the responses and even managed to learn a few things!

~Maggie & Heather, Founders of Our Front Porch

Why do you keep doing this?

Maggie: My passion is that I want to rule the world. This isn’t about one house, it’s about being the change. The purest version of ourselves is better than compromising who we each are individually.

Heather: I want to do work that really has an impact and puts everyone on an equal playing field. I want to use community to show we all matter and everyone should be treated fairly, no matter where you come from, how you look, or who you love.

What does the other one bring to the table that you don’t?

Heather: Maggie is a force to be reckoned with. If you even attempt to tell her it can’t be done, she will fight you to the death to prove she can do it. Every time I doubt being able to make OFP happen, she is there to get me back on track. Maggie is the visionary who has the big ideas, the tenacity, and knows it can be done.

Maggie: Heather has the ability to see both sides and has the patience to work through the details and the process. She researches and thinks things through to a degree I don’t think is necessary until I see it come full circle, helping us in the end.

What drives you crazy about the other one?

Maggie: Heather makes me work on vacation. However, she does allow me to do it while floating in a pool.

Heather: Just when I think I have done everything on my to-do list, Maggie adds 8 more things. At 6am.

What is your ideal day?

Maggie: Waking up without an alarm clock, sitting in the park reading a murder mystery with a delicious iced water, followed by a Phish concert.

Heather: Spending several hours at a coffee shop writing in my journal, watching a matinee documentary, doing dinner out followed by a Jackie Greene show. And of course a post-show Voodoo donut.
